Aftercare

Tattoo Aftercare

How to prepare, heal and protect your tattoo after your appointment.

Before appointment

Eat properly, hydrate, sleep well and avoid alcohol. Wear comfortable clothing that gives access to the tattoo area.

Healing timeline

Expect a fresh stage, a peeling stage and a settling stage. Healing varies by placement, skin and tattoo style.

Common mistakes

Do not pick, soak, sunbathe, over-moisturise or go swimming while the tattoo is healing.

Cleaning

Keep it simple and clean.

Follow the aftercare given at your appointment. Wash gently when advised, pat dry with clean tissue or towel, and apply only a thin layer of suitable aftercare product. If anything feels unusual, contact the studio rather than guessing.
